1999 Polaris Indy 600 RMK Snowmobiles

I picked up the 600 RMK new in 1999 because a friend had to back out of a "snow check" deal and couldn't buy the sled. I have been riding it for 12 years, and it's never let me down. I've changed the plugs and chain case oil, and that's about it. I'm on the second belt ever. It's a solid performer in the powder, but you have to pick your fights in the hills with just a 136" track. That may have been a long track in 1999, but it's pretty much considered a short track now. It rides decent on the trails, but the bars are a bit low for stand up riding if you're very tall. It takes some muscle to throw it on it's side to carve a turn in powder. I spend a lot of time with two feet on the same side when boon docking. I may upgrade to an 800 one of these days, but the old 600 Liberty just keeps on chugging.

Upgrades/Accessories

Low windshield, rack for spare gas can, center grab handle on bars for side hill travel, heavy duty torsion spring, windshield bag, and dash mounted GPS.
