-- Nice bike --
This is a nice bike and it is very comfortable after I replaced the stock seat with a Saddleman... a much needed upgrade. The stock seat caused pain after 45 minutes of riding, every time! It gets very good gas mileage and has a cruising range with a tank full of gas - the best I ever had -nearly 200 miles on a tank full (depending on driving condition of course). Having saddlebags is awesome for me as I carry all sorts of stuff. Having the sissy bar enables the ability to carry even more when needed. The windshield is great; I never get hit with road debris anymore! Handling is very, very good for a large feeling bike - windy interstates don't really phase this bike. It is very stable in windy conditions. Moving quickly to avoid road hazards is pretty easy. An EFI tuner is needed, even if you don't change the exhaust, the backfiring on de-acceleration will drive some people crazy, like me. After removing the single baffle plate in the stock exhaust to give it a little more growl, it made the backfiring even worse. A Cobra tuner with the O2 sensor connection with the pots turned low reduced the popping to a more than acceptable level for sure. Gas mileage suffered slightly by 2 to 4 MPG. The only thing really lacking on this model is POWER. Specifically traveling at the sweet spot speeds between 65 and 75 MPH, the machine is nearly out of breath. Pushing it beyond 80 feels like you’re doing exactly that, pushing it! It just feels like the bike is beyond its engine comfort zone, and for this reason, I am looking at bikes with a larger displacement engine - just so I have the ability to zip out of a situation when cruising at 65-70. Overall, if the latter I spoke about is not a concern or requirement, than this bike certainly is a perfect full spectrum machine.
Upgrades/Accessories
Saddleman seat, highway bars, highway pegs, Cobra FI2000 tuner, louder American-sounding horns.
