I bought one of these brand new. I liked it at first but I started having all sorts of problems. I ride my quads like a race quad should be ridden, and this thing couldn't hold up. The transmission slips all the time, and in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, it whines - the higher the gear, the louder the whine. When you shift into neutral it goes away. The valves needed to be shimmed after only a couple of rides. It smoked like crazy after 4-6 hours on it. I have never had luck with Suzukis (breaking swing arms on Z400s, bending sub-frames on Z400s, and adjusting timing chain tensioner on RM-Z450). This quad was also lacking power. I had to go one tooth bigger in the rear and drop the front down one tooth just to feel the torque of this quad, even with eighteens. It feels like a slightly beefed up Z400. I am not impressed with this quad at all. I sold this quad for a different brand, which is what I should have done in the first place!
