-- Excellent Machine --
I upgraded to this machine in August ‘07 from a ‘99 GTX RFI. I bought it new; it was the last one at the dealer. I was looking for a more eco-friendly 4-stroke and more comfort in the chop but I was worried that the bigger machine would not be as fast or as playful as the old two-stroke. I was not disappointed with the new machine. It has great torque; it’s powerful and as fast out of the hole, and faster at the top end than my ‘99. Anywhere from 57 to 61 WOT depending on conditions. Not as fast as the supercharged Sea-Doos but cheaper to buy and from all my research the 155 NA 4-tec is bulletproof. I did sacrifice some of the agility with this hull over my old ’99, but not that much. I love this hull. Once I got used to the OPAS I can still crank it pretty good carving and whipping it around. Where it really shines is in the chop; very, very stable, smooth and comfortable ride. Well worth that little reduction in agility. Fuel efficiency is great and no expensive 2-stoke oil. Overall quality is great, not one issue after 35 hours of hard riding. I read the comments about the black plastic trim under the gas tank staining. That is exactly what happened to me with my brand new machine at first fill-up in the local marina. The guy pumping dripped all over before I could stop him. It did stain and I could not remove it with washing and wax. I tried 303 Protectant and it worked great for me removing the stains. Love the seat and riding position! I just don’t get fatigued even after 5 or 6 hours of riding. I like to do my own maintenance and this machine is easy and straightforward to work on. Closed loop cooling is a plus. In my opinion this machine is the best all around bang for your buck in the business and I test rode a lot of the competitors and ride with a group of friends that ride competitors models.
